| Excluding/removing a list of e-mails from a database.
You can choose to exclude from the Master CRM or a Specific
List.
Excluding from the Master CRM
If you are upgrading to Golf eMailer from another broadcast email provider,
you need to make sure your list does not include all the
subscribers that have had their e-mail address bounced or have
unsubscribed. To make it easy to ensure that you don't inadvertently send to somebody who has previously unsubscribed, Golf eMailer enables you to exclude a list of recipients from a mailing list by importing a simple text file of email addresses. Once imported, this "exclusion list" will remove each email address from the mailing list you are working with.
- You probably received two flat-file databases from your
previous broadcast e-mail provider. The first list will be
your complete list and the second will be the
"bounces" and "unsubscribes." First
import the complete list to Golf eMailer.
- Next, make sure your "excludes" list is
formatted as a single column text file with only e-mail
addresses. No column name is needed.
- Once your excludes file is formatted, you can import it by
choosing Master CRM from the main navigation, then
choose "Utilities" from the "Master
List of Contacts" window, then choose "Import"
from the "Master List Utilities" window.
Browse your computer for your database file, select "Tab-Deliminated
Textfile" and then import.
Excluding from a Specific List
If you want to remove a list of e-mail addresses from a specific
list, but not from the Master CRM, you need to:
- Make a list of "excludes" formatted as a single
column text file with only e-mail addresses. No column name
is needed.
- Once your excludes file is formatted, you can import it by
choosing the Contact button from the Mailing List you
want to work with, then
choose Import.
Browse your computer for your database file, click the
"Exclude From List" button from the bottom
of the page. Do NOT use the Import button.
