| Importing a database.
Before you can import a database, you must first decide if
you will be importing a Simple or Complex database
and then the database must be formatted so the Golf eMailer
system will import the information properly.
A Simple database consists of 3 fields: Name, Company,
Email.
A Complex database consists of any of the fields
available in the Golf eMailer system such as Firstname, Lastname,
Address, City, State, Zip, etc and the 10 custom user fields.
SIMPLE DATABASE
- Your simple database file must be formatted in 3 columns
with the names: Name, Company, Email,
in that exact order.
- The file must be in tab-delimitated format. You can
use a program like Microsoft Excel to format and then export
your database file to tab-delimitated format.

- Once your database file is formatted, you can import it to
a specific database by choosing the "Contacts"
button of the specific database, then choose "Import"
from the "Manage Email List" window, then browse
your computer for the file and import.
COMPLEX DATABASE
- Your complex database file can consist of any of the
fields available in the Golf eMailer system and can be in
any order, but the first column MUST be named
"Email" and a last column must be made named MailingLists.
The MailingLists column will consist of the exact name of
the mailing list you want each entry added to. Remember, the
fields must be named exactly the same names as the fields available
in the Golf eMailer system. You can check the
"Settings" button for each mailing list to confirm
the fields available for that mailing list. For a field to
be active, it must be "checked" on the settings
page.
- The file must be in tab-delimitated format. You can use a
program like Microsoft Excel to format and then export your
database file to tab-delimitated format.

choosing Master CRM from the main navigation, then
choose "Utilities" from the "Master
List of Contacts" window, then choose "Import"
from the "Master List Utilities" window.
Browse your computer for your database file, select "Tab-Deliminated
Textfile" and then import.
