Sending a message to a specific demographic in your mailing list.
  1. To send to a specific demographic, you must create a new "temporary" mailing list. From the Golf eMailer control panel homepage, choose "New List."

  2. Complete the "About Your List" fields. Do not be too concerned about what you name the list as it will only be temporary.

Completing the "Who is in your list" fields will take a little thinking. First choose to "Copy my e-mail list from" option and complete the fields based on the specific demographic you want to send to.

EXAMPLE: If you have a mailing list that you want to send an e-mail to everyone in a specific zip code, first you need to make sure you collected zip code information on your website form when you were making the list. Assuming that is true:

    1. From the first dropdown menu under the "Who is in your list," choose the mailing list you want to send to.

    2. From the second dropdown menu, choose "including."

    3. From the third dropdown menu, choose "all current subscribers from."

    4. From the fourth dropdown menu, choose "where."

    5. From the fifth dropdown menu, choose "where ZIP has this in it."

    6. Then enter the zip code demographic you want to send to in to the next field box.

You can add additional zip codes or other options using the next set of dropdown menus.

  3. Finally complete the "Your first edition" options. Most likely you will choose "None - create new edition from scratch."

  4. When finished, click the "Create new mailing list and edition" button at the bottom of the page to create the new list. You can send your mailing to the list. If the statistics of the mailing are not important to you, you can delete the mailing list after the mailing has been sent. Otherwise, you should keep the mailing list.
